SMS Notifications

When you subscribe to SMS notifications for a team, we collect your phone number. Your phone number is:

• Encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption
• Used solely to send you tournament-related SMS notifications
• Never shared with third parties (except Twilio, our SMS delivery provider)
• Never used for marketing or promotional purposes

Tournament Data

We collect team names, match scores, and scheduling data as provided by tournament organizers. This information is displayed publicly on tournament status pages.

Automatically Collected Information

We may collect basic technical information such as IP addresses for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Send SMS notifications about matches for teams you subscribe to
• Send SMS messages to collect feedback on your tournament experience
• Verify your phone number during the subscription process
• Prevent abuse through rate limiting
• Display public tournament information (scores, schedules, standings)

4. SMS Notifications

By subscribing to SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages about your selected team's matches. Messages may include:

• Match start notifications with court information
• Match completion notifications with scores
• Close game alerts during deciding sets
• Upcoming match reminders
• Referee assignment notifications
• Tournament experience feedback requests

Message frequency varies based on tournament activity. A maximum of 100 messages are sent per subscription. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by using the unsubscribe option on the tournament status page.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Twilio to deliver SMS messages. When you provide your phone number, it is transmitted to Twilio for message delivery. Twilio's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

Phone numbers and subscription data are retained for the duration of the tournament. Verification codes expire after 5 minutes. You may request deletion of your data at any time by unsubscribing or contacting the tournament organizer.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypting phone numbers at rest and using secure connections for data transmission. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

8. Children's Privacy

Our SMS notification service is intended for parents, guardians, and adult supporters of student athletes. We do not knowingly collect phone numbers from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their phone number, please contact the tournament organizer.
